Expository Ministry Conference

‘Serving the Servants of the Word’

Tuesday 23rd – Thursday 25th June, 2026

This will be the 4th Expository Ministry Conference (EMC ’26). It will also mark 20 years of Cornhill Scotland so we eagerly look forward to gathering once more in June 2026 to sit under God’s word together and acknowledge his faithfulness.

The Expository Ministry Conference is principally for pastors, including pastors in training. Our aim is to be nourished together in God’s word so as to sharpen our preaching, think biblically about the work of ministry, and encourage one another in our service of the Lord.

William Philip

Willie is the Senior Minister at The Tron Church in Glasgow City Centre where he is committed to Biblical expository preaching and training.

Formerly he spent 5 years directing the ministry of the Proclamation Trust in London. Prior to that he had a career in Cardiology. He regularly teaches parts of the Cornhill Training Course.

Willie is married to Rebecca and they have two grown up daughters.

Peter Adam

Peter is retired Principal of Ridley College, Melbourne, where he served for 10 years. He previously spent 20 years as Vicar of St Jude’s, Carlton where he now continues to serve as Vicar Emeritus. Peter has authored several books, including Speaking God’s Words: A Practical Theology of Preaching which is used as a standard text in many seminaries and colleges throughout the world.

In the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honors Peter received the Medal of the Order of Australia for his contributions to theological education and the Anglican Church.

Andy Gemmill

Andy left a career in Respiratory Medicine to join the staff of St Helen’s Bishopsgate working with Dick Lucas. He went on to be Assistant Pastor at Spicer Street Church in St Albans, and then was for 12 years Senior Pastor of Beeston Evangelical Free Church in Nottingham.

Andy joined the Cornhill staff in 2011 and is The Director of the Pastors’ Training Course (PTC).

Andy is married to Annie, and they have two grown up children.

Jon Gemmell

Jon has been a missionary in Lebanon, a theological student at Aberdeen University and part of the first intake of Cornhill Scotland. Having finished Cornhill, he was the Assistant Minister at Plains Evangelical Church near Airdrie, and then the first pastor of Bruntsfield Evangelical Church in Edinburgh.
